Traveling solo is intimidating, yet an experience worthwhile.
It encourages you to be present and pushes you to interact with all sorts of people. Last spring, on a solo trip to Florence, this idea was especially true when I ran into Nadia Wibisono, the editor of Birds of Passage. Not only did I admire her for hopping through Europe alone, but I was also excited to meet a fellow Indonesian millennial who shares the same appreciation for new cultures, gastronomy and technology.
Since we last met, I’ve kept in touch with Nadia and was recently featured in one of her projects, Birds of Passage. Her online collection of travel stories, recommendations and musings aims to encourage readers to get out of their comfort zone and share the joys of exploring the world.
